The Bicycle Casino which just got done hosting the World Poker Tour’s Legends of Poker tournament is now playing host to the World Series of Poker. For two days starting on September 6th poker players can take a trip to the L.A. area casino and learn a thing or two about the sport from the pros themselves.
The WSOP Academy has rounded up experts in all fields of poker to sharpen players’ skills. Along with Annie Duke and Johnny Tran who have proven their poker mettle over the years will also be first time tutor, poker tell reader extraordinaire Joe Navarro. The psychology of being able to read the other players at the table can’t be stressed enough. Navarro who worked more than a quarter of a century for the FBI doing just that was a natural choice.
In the two day seminar players will learn through live play, tailor made handbooks, interactive workshops and more that cover every aspect of the game from tells to odds calculating. The focus is on giving each player the attention they need to hone in on the problems areas and give solutions for making them more of a threat at the table. To ensure each player will get that kind of in-depth tutelage the number of participants has been limited to just 100.
For those lucky 100 that got their spot secured, the $1499 price tag for the seminar will not only guarantee playing time with pros and learning more about poker than you probably ever would anywhere else, but also a chance to win back part of that payment. During the WSOP Academy seminar there will be a private tournament for a $5,000 seat in a WSOP Circuit event of their choice as well as other prizes. Not to mention hopefully with increased skills there will come increased pay outs in the long run to make up for the hefty fee.
