After seven years with the same online poker client, Party Poker – the flagship online poker site of parent company PartyGaming, PLC. – has announced that they are developing a new, more modern version of their software.
Launched in 2001, Party Poker has been a dominant brand in the online poker for the better part of a decade even after its decision to no longer accept U.S. players after the UIGEA bill was passed in October of 2006. Their current software is available in download versions for Mac, PC and Linux, and the new client is intended to have improved functionality, faster speed of play and to provide an even more complete poker playing experience.
In conjunction with these new developments, beginning Thursday, August 28th, Party Poker will offer new players a much improved sign-up bonus. In lieu of the current promotion which offers new players a 30% match on their first deposit up to $150, players who sign up will now receive a 100% match up to $500.
As Party Poker continues to make a strong push to once again become the largest online poker site in the world, these promotions may only seem like the tip of the iceberg. Other developments to Party Poker’s website include numerous additions and improvements to their poker academy – a project which is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2008.
